Today we made a major breakthrough in the summer reading list. I've been stuck in Ender's Game without any real progress, maybe a chapter or two at a time, but I finally hit a breakthrough moment where I just couldn't put it down! I was so excited.
To start, I'm not a huge Sci-Fi fanatic. And by not huge.. I mean, I really hate Sci-Fi. There are some novels that I really like that air on the side of sci-fi but they could be more classically defined as dystopian-- I like dystopian novels, but I can never get into the whole space and faerie thing.
So, I've been drowning trying to get myself to like this book, when all of a sudden CLICK. I got it. I like it now.
I had a hard time getting behind the idea of a child army, but it finally started to be an okay idea.. but they say it best in the book: they're not really children.
I'll post more soon when I actually finish!
Huzzah!
A Really Excited English Major
