1. Midterms
2. Studying for Midterms
3. Thinking about Studying for Midterms
4. Math
5. Reading Marx... which is connected to #2.. but still valid
I have a list of things that I like to do instead of 1-5 above:
2.1 Think about Corgis
2.1A: Look at pictures of Corgis on the internet
2.2 Woodburning
2.3 Dancing
2.4 Planning out my future
2.5 Planning out my present
2.6 Planning out my Halloween costume
2.7 Basically everything BUT 1-5 above.
So, today, I'm avoiding studying for my midterm because the review we did in class today thoroughly taught me that I am SCREWED. We looked at the Shirt Collar fable by Hans Christen Anderson and were tasked with coming up with questions each of the philosophers we've been discussing (Freud, Marx and Descartes) would ask of the story... and then answering them.
Basically, no matter what question we came up with... we were wrong. This tells me one thing: I'm screwed.
HURRAY FOR STUPID MIDTERMS!!
Meanwhile, I also have to study for my Romantic Lit midterm, which won't be as difficult, except that I have to remember obscure details about each of the authors we've covered and identify 8 poems by their author, title, and then context using only a few lines... because my memory works that way... NOT.
I loved my high school. I loved it so much that I now work there... but the one thing it didn't prepare me for was "The College Exam". Four years later I still suck at tests.
Always,
