This week was a bit nuts. Monday was a normal day for me, working and such. But, I couldn't sleep. So, I stayed up all night and worked on the video slideshow I'm doing for a friend's family. Apparently my body shut down right around 8:30, immediately after sending a text to Lukers, whom I was meeting at my Starbucks at 9. I didn't get there until 9:45 Tuesday.
Tuesday then proceeded:
11:00 Funeral
12-1 Luncheon at Funeral Home
2-4 Burial (and travel time)
5-7 Previewing the Slideshow with family
7-11 Cheer-up session with Lukers.
And then work happened on Wednesday and my life returned to normal.
Except... it isn't normal. Because someone is dead.
She wasn't my best friend or my parent or grandparent. But, she touched my life. My path will be altered forever because she was in it. Now, she can't share her wisdom or jokes, her smile can't make my day, and she won't be there the next time I visit my mom.
It is sobering to realize how quickly things can be gone. Only a few short weeks ago she found how she was dying, and now she's gone. It's crazy.
